Monochromatic
Match your eyes, lips, and cheeks to your prom outfit to pull together a fiery monochromatic makeup look like Zendaya’s. It’s surprisingly wearable and oh-so-fierce.
Bright Blue Eyes
Dua’s cobalt blue shadow is the perfect complement to a simpler dress or suit. Swipe a shimmery blue glitter all over the lids and blend into your lash line to recreate this gorge eye.
Berry Lips
If a classic red isn’t your thing but you still want to make a statement, opt for a pretty berry lip.Bonus points if your eye makeup falls under the same shade range!
Nude Smoky
Camila’s taupe-y smoky eye is the perfect inspo for natural prom makeup — it’s sultry yet fresh, and pretty much goes with any outfit. Grab a palette with greys and taupes to achieve this shimmery neutral eye.
Sharp Cat Eye
When your dress is the main attraction, all you really need are a flawless cat eye and glossy lips in the makeup department. You can’t go wrong with sharp winged liner to enhance your eyes.
Goth Lips
An almost-black lipstick feels like a big commitment for prom, but if you keep the rest of your makeup super light, it’ll come out looking so glamorous. Make sure you play up your brows big time to balance out the dark lip.
Neon Lids
Your whole wardrobe is going neon for spring and even though a neon prom dress would be a little extra, you can rep the trend with your prom makeup. Pick a neon eyeshadow that matches your prom dress (or prom suit) and drag it out into a cat-eye. The angular shape feels extra glam.
Barely-There (But Still Super Glam)
The trick to rocking no-makeup makeup that still looks dressy is texture. High-shine lips, dewy cheeks, and feathered eyebrows look subtle, but still eye-catching. Finish up with a pair of natural-looking falsies on your lids.
Fuchsias and Oranges
Orange-y shadows are majorly hot right now, but for prom you need a whole new take. Use a terra cotta shade to shade your crease, then cover the rest of your lid with a poppin’ hot pink shade. Add some more pink below your lashes, then top with an orange-based blush to match.
Polka-Dot Liner
Dust a matte white shadow across your lids to make your liner pop. Then, using a felt-tip liner, draw a thin line along your lashline, winging it out at the corner. Use the liner to apply tiny dots in three rows following your wing as a guide.
Gold Ombré
This lip is actual fire, colors and all. Start with a orangey-red lip cream, then paint on a liquid gold lip color. Blend out the gold for a badass ombré effect. For balance, keep the eye simple. A shimmery nude, pink, or gold would be perfect.
All Over Gloss
This dewy look is so laid-back glam. Just pop some clear gloss on your eyelids, then smudge it on your lips. It’s basically the easiest prom look ever.
Over-the-Top Cat Eye
This crazy bold look will make you stand out in a crowd of smokey eyes. Just Grab your favorite liner (liquid will get you the sharpest flick) and go to town, making a full circle around your eyes with a wing on both sides.
Mermaid Eyes
Shades of blue and green feel so ~aquatic~ without looking costume-y. Use a light blue shade to cover your eyelids, then add a smokey gray to the crease for a more sulky vibe. Finish it off by adding a bright teal-green liner under your lashes.
Major Metallic Lids
Use a high-pigment metallic eyeshadow to cover your entire lid. For an even more dramatic look, use the shadow to line your lower lashes.
Pastel Wings
Play up a classic bold lip with a cool pastel liner. Draw a thick line of powder blue eyeliner starting at the inner corner of your eye. Bring the wing out to below your eyebrow for a super dramatic look.
Charcoal Shine
This look takes ‘smokey eye’ to a whole new level! Rub a metallic-y charcoal pigment on your entire eyelid, then add some below your lower lashes instead of liner. Top it with a few coats of blackest mascara and some falsies to make your gaze even more intense.
Glitter Lips
Upgrade your Taylor Swift pout with massive amounts of sparkle. Apply your fave shade of red (or blue, or pink, whatever!) then use a small brush to apply glitter and gloss. Before you leave the house, dust off the excess so you don’t get a mouth full of flakes.
Smoky Neutrals
This trick is perfect for that all-natural-but-still-glam-af look we all hope to achieve. Layer on some deep shadows that are in the same color family as your skin tone. It will play up your eyes and your complexion.
Emerald Eyes
Use your finger to smudge a green shadow on your lids and below your lashes. Creme eyeshadow will give you the most pigment for a super bold look.
Glossy Lids
Make your eyes pop with a high-gloss look. Apply a base shadow color, then top it off with a glossy product. A shiny shadow will stay on longer when it’s layered.
Super Dramatic Cat Eye
Apply your usual smokey eye, then add a burgundy shadow in the center for mega intensity.
Rainbow Liner
Go bright and bold for prom with contrasting liners that pop. On top, draw on a cobalt blue line, then on bottom, add another electric shade. Then, swipe on a natural-looking lip shade and a dash of blush.
